I am very scatter minded and I was pregnant for 9 months, and I do not remember anything about those first months. The only thing I remember vividly about my pregnancy were my 2am Charlie Horses. DH would wake up panicking asking if it was time to go to the hospital LOL.
Well, I've never been pregnant, but have had a scare or two right after I got married, so I used a couple of home tests. There are different ones; some can be used earlier then others (I think within 3 days of a missed period?); some you have to wait longer. There's no point in testing too early, though I know it's killing you! Also, I wouldn't get one for the Dollar Store, as much as I adore the Dollar Store--I wonder how reliable they are! I seem to remember the kits (bought mine at WalMart) run about $8-$15. If you get a negative, and still suspect you are pregnant, the tests tell you to wait a certain amount of time, and re-test. Even though it shows negative, if you test too early, or there's not enough of the "pregnancy hormone" (as one test called it) in your urine, you could still be pregnant, hence re-testing.

If it's negative, and your period is still not there, please make a doctor's appointment--it probably is nothing serious (I never missed one in the 20+ years I've had them, but just missed one a couple of years ago for no reason), but just be sure, ok???

I wish you all the best, and hope you get the result you want!

I forgot to add: I've read in medical books that one of the symptoms is that it feels as if your period is coming, yet there is no sign of it. That having been said, I felt like that, with cramping, when I had a cold--and realized I had the runs! Also, when I once thought I was pregnant, my period was quite late, and I was sick in the mornings, felt dizzy and tired--then discovered I had a stomach virus!

Sorry. I know this is not putting your mind at ease!!!

Good luck!

I first took my test the day of my missed period (but while it was positive, it didn't "really" count, because I had had a hcg shot for infertility treatment- just really wanted it to say "yes", after all the years of tests I took that said "no"
), and the symptoms started at about 6 weeks. The cramps, though, started a few days before I was supposed to get my period, but no period
. One of my best friends also didn't have symptoms until 6 weeks, I believe it was with all three- I remember, because she had the morning sickness that puts you in the hospital for all 3, the whole rest of the pregnancies
.

WOW I just got back, and I can see everyone is just dying!! My home comp. is broke, which is why we have all the suspense going on

But anyway, I woke up this morning around 3 am needing to PEE. But I went back to bed anyway, and around 6 after DH went to work I couldnt hold it anymore so I read the instructions and took it.

Well the instructions said to wait two minutes for results to appear but as soon as I peed on that test stick a got a big fat +!

Honestly, I wanted to die right then and there! Im still in shock

Wow, I dont even know what im going to do, my grandma is going to die, my mother will be ******! Hubby will be a bit taken back, we werent expecting our second child so soon!

You know when they say it only takes one time? Well its true!!! We had been so careful since Jon was born, and Christmas night we got, well a little carried away and BAM! here we have it

Well, im pregnant!

Congratulations! How wonderful! A little belated Christmas gift, perhaps?

Don't worry about your relatives--it's your baby, and your life. When I thought I was pregnant (see reply to this post earlier), my Mom yelled at me, implying I had done something stupid (I have no idea what she could have objected to--I was married, older, with a job, house, etc.). This drove a wedge between us--so much that I no longer confide in her. Please don't let this happen to you with your family. I know their attitude could hurt you, but just smile, and get on with your new chapter in life.

I'm so happy for you all! I wish you a happy, healthy pregnancy, and a happy, healthy baby!

Yay congrats! I think it's normal if your pregnant for the results to work fast. Mine did at least.

And I agree your family should be happy for you. It's none of their business really if it was planned or not... When are you gonna tell hubby?

Thank you, Im glad you understand what I mean. I am a married woman, I have my own life but I know my family may say some hurtful things, and I am a very sensitive person and take everything to the heart. Theres nothing more hurtful to me then my mom being upset at me, even at this point in my life.

I know my family will be happy in due time, but what I worry about is the first reactions.

As for when Im going to tell hubby...I dont know. I know he will be surprised, but I also know he will be happy. I also know as soon as I tell him he is going to blab to everyone, so Im not going to tell him until I get the courage to tell my mom. I dont want my mother to find out from someone else!

Thank you, Im sure he will be excited, after baby is born. Hes only 1/2, so I dont think he can grasp the concept yet.

I put in my last menstrual cycle in The due date calculator and im due September 21, 2007. Im 'about' 5 weeks along. So baby will be born after my sons 2nd birthday. I hope he stays a good boy, because I would not like to deal with a terrible toddler and a crying baby all at the same time!
