I am really upset by this, especially since we had rescues lined up to take them Thursday!
So, two other pups at the shelter had coccidia as well, so I brought them hom, too. ...sigh.... I decided to treat my two dogs as well as the inside kitties. That cost $85. I spent $200 at the vet today.

I am just devastated as the rescues might not want to pups in 10 days when they are done being treated for coccidia & won't take them with coccidia. Poor pups might've lost their best shot at getting a home. I mean, we've got the two "new" ones, 3 month old black labs, in addition to my 4-2 1/2 month old Black Labs. We're never gonna find homes for them here in the boonies!

So....any advice on treating dogs or cats for coccidia?

Sorry hun, I don't have any advice. What is the condition and what's the prognosis? This is bad news - but don't lose heart! There are lots of people out there willing to take on rescues with health issues - especially treatable ones, if it is

Coccidia is treatable. It's a 10 day treatment with Albon(liquid or pill form). It's just that their poop is contaigous!
Sorry, that's funny now, wasn't before. It's just that I've had the "c" pups for a month now.
They're getting big, therefore really hard to adopt out. Here's a link about coccidia:

We are going to take in a stool sample(after 10 days) & made the two rescues that want the pups promise to keep space for these guys. I know 3 will go for sure, I think the other rescue might want to two sisters, leaving us(me) with only one puppy. We're taking in a stool sample on the 26th(I think) when the pup's meds are done & hopefully can send them to rescues on the 27th!

I had WWIII on my hands trying to medicate Ophelia, a semi-feral. Dory man didn't like it & I do not expect any kisses from him tonight. I felt so awful walking right up to Damita's face & she had no idea I was going to drug her. Each cat got 5 ccs of Albon as the first dose, thankfully only have to get 2.5 ccs into them for the next 9 days. Boy am I going to be thoroughly hated in 9 days!
