Woman dies following contest: Is the radio station at fault? - Page 2

The mother and her lawyer were on Larry King the other night.

They said that there was a waiver signed, but it wasn't anything to do with health or well being. It was basically a release saying that they could air names and results and images.

The mother is looking into a lawsuit.

They also had another woman on discussing how she felt from drinking so much water at the contest. She had a headache and felt really sick for 2 days.

The radio station issued a statement of apology. I bet they're absolutely freaking out about the legal consequences. The woman had 3 small kids....10 years old, 3 years old and 11 months old.

No amount of money can bring their mother back to them, but at the very least they could recover some money and put it into trust funds for their college educations.

I do think that the radio station should have done more research and been aware that this could happen. There could have then been a disclaimer warnign the participants. But honestly I think that the responsibility lies in the contestants. No one forced them to compete, they did it on thier own free will. They could have just as easily asked thier doctors if there could be any health risk and avoided the activity. I don't think the contestants have the right to sue the radio station.
