~Just a little update~

Taylor didn't go to school again today- she's still feeling miserable. She still has a fever, but it is a bit lower today. I just got off the phone with a pediatrician. I told him her symptoms, etc and asked what we should do. He said that it is most likely viral and that it just has to run its course. He said to get her some Childrens Mortrin tonight (we tried the childrens tylenol and the childrens advil- both didn't work worth poo for her). So if that doesn't work tonight- she's going in as an emergency tomorrow. I just got off the phone with my sister checking up on her. I told her to get a bag of frozen english peas and put them on her neck- so she's layin on the couch now with ice packs and frozen peas. Hopefully that will help a bit. She's also been drinking lots of fluids and eating lots of soup. Keep the vibes comming..she still needs them. If she's not better soon, i'm taking her to the doctor.

I hope this finds Taylor feeling a little better, and it probably is a virul thing, just keep doing what you are doing.

thankyou again for the vibes everyone! they are definitely appreciated. my brother-in-law just called me...he stopped by the drugstore and got her some childrens motrin....so they're giving her some, giving her an ice pack and sending her to bed. they are supposed to call the pediatrician in the morining and check in- if she is worse- he's taking her in as an emergency. i'll keep ya'll posted.

Adding my {{{{prayers and vibes}}}} for Taylor
You might try giving her a small bit of crystallized ginger to nibble on, and some room-temp, natural flavored gingerale. the ginger helps in the same way as Pedialyte. My daughter was given this advice by her pediatrician after a bad spell of encephlitis that caused constant nausea and vomiting. I've used it myself, since then, and it does seem to help with the electrolytes. IF you can't find any of those, make a ginger water with about a tsp. of ground ginger in a glass of warm water with enough sugar (preferably raw) to make it palatable. Be sure to give tiny but frequent doses. Please keep on giving us updates

No he didn't. I'll ask Kimmy (my sister) in the morning if Taylor is able to. What does this indicate if she is not able to? Thanks for the heads up!

I've never heard of this before! Thankyou for the advice. I will definitely get some ginger for her tomorrow (she's asleep right now- i just called my sister to check on her- her fever is down a little but she still wasn't feeling well before she went to lay down for the night). We will be taking her to the doctor tomorrow if she still has a fever. Thanks for the advice! I will definitely get some for her to try

I hope she feels better soon!

I am wondering about touching her chin to her chest, I have never heard any one say some thing about that? I hope the ginger helps her, if you try it!

She probably is fine. That's the test doctors use to diagnose meningitis, which has those symptoms, but usually the person is really, really sick, so not to worry you!
