So, we got our first real snow fall last night which means roads are bad and people are driving like even bigger idiots. Campus is across town and I don't have all my reading done so... should I suck it up and go to class (where they keep the thermostat at 60 I swear!) or should I go home catch up on my reading and keep warm with my kitties?!

Nuh uh...might give me away!
Do they keep attendance? If not, skip! If they do, is it worth it to lose the day?

I lived on campus 3 of my 4 years at college and it would take a team of horses to pull me into class that didn't take attendance when it was nasty out. Once I lived off campus, at least one class per day took attendance, so it wasn't worth it to just go to one.

I personally would say stay in and just make sure you are really prepared for the next class. After I spun my car off the road, I decided that unless it is an emergency, I will not put myself at unnecessary risk.

SKippp it... I had the same dilemma last night.. It was snowing and cold,, and I wanted to skip it,, so bad,, becuase I worked all day long, ,and I was tired, and I didn't skip it..

IT WAS the most boring classs,, and I felt like someone should keep hitting me to keep me awake..

STayyy home!!!! IMHO..

I think I will. Plus, I much prefer the idea of reading at home all warm than sitting through 5+ hours of class in a cold room.

Get caught up and go to the next class. You aren't prepared, no attendance is taken, you will be fine.

I don't know how many times I arrived at my campus only to find that they had cancelled or delayed opening. (During the blizzards of the late 70s) The President couldn't seem to understand that such info needed to be announced earlier than 7:30AM when the first classes are starting at 8!

Barf...I wish I could skip class and work and rehearsal today. Today is going to be a yucky day!

I'd say skip class. We all need a "keep warm with the kitties" day every now and again!

Well, I had yesterday off too... so my "good book" will most likely be business law or accounting. Woohoo! But still better than weathering the snow and cold class room

Wow, how great is that?! When I went to school, most of the professors took attendance, and if you missed a day without some written excuse (doctors note etc.) it was 5% off your FINAL grade! I brought a 3.5 average down to a 2.0 my second semester due to missed classes, alone!

See, most of my non-music classes took attendance, which sucked in the worst way, but my music CLASSES never take attendance. The only problems are that I like those classes AND there are usually no more than 10 -15 closely knit people in the class. So basically, they know when I take a "mental health day" without even asking!

My rehearsals, on the other hand, if I miss one without prior notification or being able to provide two professional references (like a doctor's note and hospital discharge papers, for instance), I automatically am dismissed from the class, get a failing grade AND can't graduate on time. Kind of hard-core.

Safety first...stay home....

Who knows the prof may even cancel, so you would've fought idiot drivers for nothing.

I would def rather stay home and stay warm with the kitties as long as u dont have any quizes or anything I dont think it would really matter, and because of the snowfall there might not even be alot of people attending you know, so maybe it will more than liekly be a boring day

Well, I went home and made sure I got all my work done for tomorrows class. It was totally worth it... I even had 2 kitties touching me at once and thats never happened before... so, it was worth it.
