I got my stitches out today! Boy am I glad to have the wrist splint off and have use (although not as much right now) of my left hand. My hand is still kind of weak and I have some muscle tenderness/pinching depending on what I'm doing. I also can't bend my hand all the way yet but it's getting there.
Here is a picture:
Obviously I'm thrilled (Like the pic? Yes ladies, I'm married)
As you can see I have one in my palm and one at the base of my wrist. The one on my wrist is purple because he drew a line on where he was going to cut. That will wash off eventually. Also the word "Yes" is still written on my hand. I don't know if they do it everywhere, but at my hospital they have to write it on the hand they're going to work on and it has to stay there for the entire surgery. Good idea, you don't want them making a mistake and doing the wrong hand
My hand/wrist is still pretty bruised and my wrist incision is alittle swollen.
Thanks for everyone who gave me vibes and kept me in their thoughts during the last 2 weeks. I'll keep everyone posted when I get the right one done!
p.s. I don't think I'll need PT although I forgot to ask the doctor what I can do to prevent any furthe problems, especially in regards to the crutches, besides making sure I use correct typing posture (which I'm trying to do now), stretching etc..
