They're beautiful!!! Did you catch the lifespan though
30 years is quite a committment. I'm sure you'd give one a lovely home

I used to work with a woman who had about thirty birds at home. She had one of those and they are not only loud but they are very rarely quiet. Think of them as an extremely talkative Siamese of the bird world. At one time I wanted to get an African Grey but I started small with a cockatiel. Turns out I am not really a bird person. Good thing I figured it out before I spent a lot of money on a parrot with a very long lifespan.

Conures are awesome birds! I got to hand feed & care for a nanday conure until it was sold. He was my buddy. I wanted to buy him so bad at the time but i just didnt have the funds. He would only come to me when called and would only sit on my shoulders as we walked thru the store. He snuggled in my hair and was just soooo sweet. Then someone came and bought him. They brought him back a week later dead! they said he drowned in his water dish!

what idiots and liars! You could see he had been mangled by something.

anyway they are great birds VERY VERY LOUD though-- not for apartments or townhomes though. When I would take "birdy" home at nite my neighbors 2 houses down could hear him sqwack when he got excited.

If i have the opportunity to get a bird in the next decade or so it will be a conure. Probably a Nanday . Their little black heads are sooooo cute on their green and blue bodies! soooooo cute!

What a beautiful bird! I love birds! They do make big messes though. I would love to keep one!

They are beautiful birds. I love them.
I have heard that they are loud though...but if you can put up with it (and the other people in your house lol) I think they are worth it. About the messes...yeah birds can be messy but it is soooo worth it.

They are gorgeous to look at but I would want earplugs (and for all the neighbours too!) That's the reason I chose a Senegal, nice quiet birds with a small voice, although when he does his daily screeching session it is still ear-splitting. Nothing compared to a sun conure though!

Yeah- Jasper went off on one this morning and screamed at me for almost five minutes after you left for work

I thought I was feeling better today
