Any suggestions on a can food for Renal failure?
You can try Hi-Tor (they have one, non-prescription, that is lower protein, lower phos for crf kitties)...www.petfooddirect.com
carries it. I don't like the fact that it uses by-products, but if my crf guys will eat it, that's better then them not.
You can also go to (if you aren't already familiar with the site) www.felinecrf.org
, and use a link you'll find there to the katkarma pages on phos/protein content in prescription and non-prescription dry and canned foods.
Though I agree Friskies isn't the best, I currently assist-feed my oldest crf kitty with Friskies Turkey and Giblets - special diet as it has 34 per cent protein and 165 mg per 100 Kcal of phos.
