...this past week, every morning it's the same thing. Somewhere between 4 & 5am (4:57 exactly this morning), Reeses decides to get up and do everything she can to keep us up. Here is just a short list of things she was doing this morning:

1) Playing with the phone and clock cords on Jen's nightstand

2) Lay on her back under the bed and scratch

3) Lay on her back under the bed and scratch but at the same time pull herself from one end of the bed to another

4) Chew on a piece of plastic coat hanger she found in the closet

5) Play with Jen's watch on the dresser

6) Run around the bedroom like a mental patient

7) Play with the phone jack behind the bed

8) Play with the blinds

It usually only lasts about a half hour, but it's the longest half hour of our lives, especially on a work day when Jen has to get up at 5:30. I can atleast go back to bed

I suppose it's my fault. I couldn't sleep last night so I came to bed about 2am, went to the bathroom, and opened the door to Reeses sitting in front of it. She promptly gave me her signature noise, which in this case meant "Why are you still up". I probably ruined the sleep pattern she was working on

I really feel your pain there - Kahu wakes me up early as well, pawing at me for wet food. Its like that every day, every morning, between 5-7am. He will go on for hours if we let him and that is SO not good for my sleep patterns!! He doesnt do it to Jake.

Can you shut Reeses out of the bedroom? I do that to Kahu when I need my sleep badly. I do feel guilty but I have no choice.

LOL the joys of cat parenthood are right and with Tavia she not only wakes me she wakes the dog up so I have both of them going.

I keep a water bottle beside the bed for such occasions. We have 3 cats and lots of toys. If they want to play they can do it somewhere other than the bedroom!!

Stumpy's thing is to bat the blind cords, and paw under the wardrobe. A stream of water over her head is enough to make her leave the bedroom and play downstairs!
