Gmail problems?

I have been having problems with my gmail chat - if it says that the chat is not enabled, then I cannot send emails out.

I turned off my firewall and it seemed a bit better, but not much, so I was wondering if others were having the same problem, as I have been having this problem for 2 weeks now. I have cleared the cookies and the cache.

mine is fine are you using chat through the gmail interface or google chat program? will it work if you try google talk?

Through the gmail interface - the contact list doesnt show up, its always saying that they are currently experiencing difficulties and then it connects again and its a vicious cycle. Im thinking it may be my computer somehow.

They run on several separate servers, I have two gmail accounts and occasionally one will work while the other will be down
