The debate over teeth cleaning is up again in our household.
When I first got chester I started brushing his teeth, but due to his cheeks not accomidating the toothbrush, his kicking and whining and my dislike of the experience we've stopped.
It has come to my attention that vets (both mine and the one at the cat clinic that I went to yesterday to ask about pricing ect) are advertising "many different ways to keep your cats teeth clean"...which include oral liquid to put in their water, dental treats, dental food, pastes, and other things.

How do you keep your cats teeth clean? do you think one method is better than the rest?

I use it too, and the cat actually lets me do it! I have a teeny cat toothbrush that fits on the end of my finger.

It was worth the cost of buying this stuff in England.

the one that I had that fit on the end of my finger wouldn't fit in his mouth either (not between the cheek and the teeth). is that how you apply the gel? Why do you use the gel over toothpaste for cats?

Mine is teeeeny. Most of the finger brushes are designed for dogs (they are about an inch wide with circular brushes.)

The cat one is about 1/2 inch long and about 1/4" wide. It's teensy and fits into the wee cat mouths very well.

You can also put the stuff directly on your finger and get it into the cat's mouth that way.

I use logic gel too. You can let them lick it off your finger or out of the tube if you find it difficult to get a brush in the mouth. I also use plaque off sprinkled on their food.
