Hi there,

I'm flying from Germany to Oregon with my two cats. They are 2 adult males, I hope the airline will let me have them in the cabin even though they are a little over the weight limit. One is 6 kilos, the other 5.5.

I've decided to go with soft sided carriers, but the size is so small (to fit under the seat) is it still o.k. for them? Or is it too small? I don't want to squish them but I feel it is much better than putting them in cargo!!

Sedate or not?

Sorry, I have sooooooooo many questions...

Do NOT sedate! The soft-sided carriers are fine - most cats squish up in a ball anyway. I always flew with cat in cabin, soft-sided carrier under the seat with no problems.

The only thing you'd have to worry about is if you are coming/going to a country that would have a quarentine period - you should be fine - just be sure to have all documentation of shots/rabies, etc. with you at all times.
