Howdie everyone...
I've been posting here and there for about a week or so now, so I figure its about time I came in here and made it official


My name is Hilda, I'm 49 and live in Magnolia, Texas. I'm married and we have a daughter (Naomi-24) and a son (Alex Jr-19). Our kits are Elora and Mia (who belongs to Naomi...they moved in with us about 6 months ago...
). We lived in Katy, TX for about 10 years but just moved here last April. Our home is on almost 1 1/2 wooded acres....63 trees in our front yard and 93 out back~(not counting the 'forest')!!!! When we lived back in Katy, I was pretty miserable since we lived in a subdivision and I'm a country gal. I kept telling my hubby 'I want a place where I can look outside and see TREES instead of houses and pavement'. Boy oh boy did we get that!!!

Nice to be here...I look forward to gettin' to know y'all...

Very similar story here. I'm a 49 yr old mother of 3, with the gray cat that smells good. His name is Lucky. Saved him from high in a tree when he was a kitten. We moved to a 5 acre wooded lot 8 months ago from a house that you could throw a stone in any direction and hit up to 6 houses. Not any more! I love this wide open space!

and welcome to TheCatSite! You've come to the right place and we hope you will all enjoy it here. All 9 of us are rescues, spayed/neutered and indoor-only of course; we and our devoted servant live out in the Mojave Desert on 2 1/2 beautiful acres with golly-only-knows how many trees! and we know just how you feel, but we're going to have to relocate shortly to an urban location, which is why only the 9 of us are here. Twelve of us had to go to sanctuary in a kinder, gentler land up north, because of the move (the city has stupid quotas. The move is a forced one, due to an impending divorce.)
But we will always carry the desert in our hearts...look forward to seeing you here and hope you enjoy it as much as we do! Our human's father's family came from Texas -- they lived/live in Dallas, Garland, Amarillo, Ft. Worth, Carrollton, and Lewisville (Louisville?). Are you all near any of those?

So sorry to be replying to this so late


No we don't live near that area, we're about an hour north west of Houston...just enough to be away from all the big city stuff! I hope your move goes well. It must have been so hard to split up your large family that way. I hope it'll all be for the best.

Yes, it was like cutting off part of myself, separating from loved ones like that. I never would have done it, except to ensure their lives are saved and that they have sanctuary. Never would have thought life would be so hard. But there it is!
