Once a cat is neutered, how long does it take to notice behavior changes?

I just recently neutered my 1 1/2 year old male tabby the other day, and have re-introduced him to the other cats 2 days after surgery (giving him time to recollect himself after having a surgery to remove a very important part of him lol).

Anyways - I do realize that changes shouldn't be immediate considering he still has hormones in him from before surgery. He is still humping one of my cats like crazy, and being dominant over him, and he has urinated in 2 different spots in my apartment as if marking them (not really a spray though, just spot urination).

He has seemed a BIT more docile after the 2 days, but the humping and spray/urination continues. Im assuming it takes around 2 weeks for everythign to settle in? But I was just wondering if I can get some extra feedback on how long it takes to notice some behavior changes. Im looking forward when my cat stops humping my poor little guy (he gives in to it and I feel bad lol). Thanks again!

It can take a couple of months for the behaviour to change. Some cats will "hump" things even though they are altered.

The spot peeing doesn't really sound like a behavioural thing though. Alot of the time cats will spray when marking territory and not squat (not always the case though)

I would keep a very close eye on it and even give your vet a call. Perhaps your cat has developed a bit of a UTI following the surgery (especially if the spot peeing is new behaviour)
