Glad they figured out what was up, Heather. And I'm the same way, I'd make up something to laugh about to get through tough times.

my dad is a Christian man, so I always take the opportunity to say something inappropriate to get the shock factor from him....mind you, I don't really say bad words in front of them, but I did say "you guys weren't doing anything kinky were you?!"
My step-mom probably almost passed out
and said "OMG NO! Heather Lynne!" I always get the 2 name called when I do something bad!

Oh, forgot to add, she had me on speaker phone....she said my dad mustered up a smile, but he was too sedated to talk.....

I'm glad they figured out what it was
now lets send vibes that he is able to pass it on his own, without surgery. NO SURGERY VIBES {{{}}}

Heather, I think you should go up to the hospital for a while. After all.... laughter is the best medicine
If you keep cracking jokes like that, he'll be home in no time

And thank you so much for your kind words, and support.....I have been fighting back the tears while I'm here at work, and if it wasn't for you guys I may have lost it.... your all the best!
to you all.... I'll keep you posted.

On a lighter note, I am one to make a joke to lighten the situation....especially when I am scared. So I made sure to tell my dad that I always knew he was full of sh
anyway, no matter what the dr's said! He managed to smile from that my step-mom said.....
Your funny.
Its ok to make a joke, at times like this.

thanks so much! I am feeling relieved at the moment. I know it's still scary, just from what I know about cats and blockages.....it's dangerous. But, for now, I am thankful it's not cancer, or a heart attack, or anything like that.....

Did you just compare your dad to a cat?

I just now saw this thread & I am very happy to hear it wasn't anything too serious. Sending big {{{get well soon}}} vibes.

I'm sorry that your dad had to be rushed to the hospital like that but I'm glad that they found out what it was that is bothering him and am thankful that is anything more severe. Best wishes to him for a speedy recovery and good vibes to you and your family.

hey guys, just a real quick update....I just got back from the hospital. I am so relieved, he looked much better than I had expected, and was awake, alert, coherent, and in good spirits. They are still waiting to see if it will pass on it's own, they are not sure at all what it is, but sometime tomorrow they will decide whether or not to have surgery. Now they have a tube in his nose that goes into his intestines, it is pumping all the gases and bad stuff from his body out into a container.... gross, I know. But it is relieving a ton of pressure in his body, he was swollen bigger than a 9month pregnant woman, and he could barely breathe from it, so now he can breathe, and with the morphine he is not in as much pain.... the dr's biggest worry is infection... but thanks for all of your prayers and concern...
I'll keep you posted on anything that happens tomorrow... good night all, I'm exhausted...

I'm just getting to this thread, but I wanted to say that I'm really glad your dad is doing better, and that they know what is wrong. I'm praying for him as well.
