It's blowing huge gusts of wind outside. Strong winds make me a bit nervous, and I don't want to go to bed (although I will try in a minute!) and Radar keeps racing to the windowsill and making high-pitched 'eeep' noises. He's not scared (of course not he's my big brave hunter
) but he's not hugely happy either.

Can you believe that we've been warned there could be more tornadoes by the weekend? In London? UK? Unbelieveable - I mean they're not unheard of in the UK, but mostly take place out at sea with the occassional one or two hitting land, but we had one in London last month and are expecting more
the world has gone mad I tell you. What are you supposed to do if you don't have a basement? This isn't something I grew up with

I'm going to try to get some sleep, it's past my bedtime and I have work tomorrow, hope I can sleep through the whining, battering, gusts of wind

Yup. Wind is what we're dealing with, too. It's insane. And the kitties are not happy. Not bad right now, but it sure was blowing something fierce this afternoon!

Crazy windy here, too. I don't know how many Pacific Storms we've had the last six weeks... 9? 10? Here's the forecast at our house:

Sustained wind west 90 km/hr (56 mi/hr) near Juan de Fuca Strait early this evening.

We had hail this afternoon, too, and horizontal rain all day again. It's like living in a hurricane!

Cheers, from

Oh lord, I shouldn't be complaining! That is worse than we have! The UK is pretty much known for its non-exceptional (although often a bit drizzly and cool and damp!) weather. The occasional hurricane or tornado is a real surprise for us though, we're just not prepared for it. And the trains stop running if there's more than 1/2" of snow
(bit of a national joke here!)

I'm going to quit complaining and go to bed, with the duvet over my head so I can't hear the wind

We had the winds over the weekend 60-80 mph (95-125 kph) and with the snow, it created white out conditions and shut down roads.

I heard that Los Angeles, CA has some bad ones also.

The weather over the last couple of months has been violent all over.
