It's funny to watch! He's old as dirt too! We've had him for years!
as a huge spongebob fan, i feel obligated to correct you.
those are pink jellyfish. i have them too.
i had to take them out of the tank, they were scaring my tetras and catfish.

maybe so!
aren't they cute!
I like it when they float around the tank (with the air bubbles). What kind of tetras do you have? we have neon and lemon ones as well as a black skirt in our 10 gallon.

LOL! Ahem... I mean... Poor fishie thingies!

We have a 225 gal pond in the back yard, but we bring the fish inside during the winter (though for this winter, it seems like a moot point!). Since we don't keep them inside year round, we put them in a 100gal clear storage container. Duke LOVES to pounce at them! He also likes to splash in the filter that pours out into the hole in the lid. The fish are pretty big too. We have three koi, one butterly koi, one fantail goldie and one placo. Placo's grow FAST! Our biggest is a gold-turning-platinum koi thats about 10 1/2 inches now (we feed them a growth formula). We've had them for about two and a half years.

I bought Duke a Fresh Flow so he could stop drinking the "pond" water. It seems to have worked, but he still likes to pounce at them every now and then.

A friend had a small pond and brought in the fish for the winter. They kept trying to swim through the glass walls of the tank.

Mine do that too. They're big too, so they make a loud THUD when they do it. Poor things. I think we're gonna have to just keep a large indoor tank for them, though I'd hate to have it empty the bulk of the year...

For Christmas I got my nephew a Triop kit- it's these little crustations that you put their eggs in water and they hatch within 24 hours. they live about a month (longer if you take care of them) and are kinda cute
My nephew had been taking such good care of them- they had 5 (my sister supervised
) and well...Kimmy came home today to find one of the triops bodise scattered all over the kitchen counter
Poor thing! They had them in a covered tank- so i'm not sure how Patch got to him , but he did...(thankfully it was before the kids got home from school
) The triops have been moved away to a different location now and Patch is now considering himself to be a ferocious beast
Poor little shrimpy/fishy thing!!!!
You mean your Triops hatched? Ours didn't hatch and yes, The brats knocked our tank over... RIP triops!

Yup! We took awesome care of them! I helped my sister set up their tank. There's a temperature strip on it, a lamp over it to help maintain the temp and at night we cover 1/2 the tank with aluminum foil for them. They eat like little piggies too
6 hatched

we just have neons, 2 different cory cats, and the lone cherry barb who came with the tank 6+ yrs ago (the rest of the fish that came with the tank have gone to the great beyond). i adopted my fish tank from a humane society in 2000, which is pretty unusual. the person was moving and couldn't find anyone to take it, and i wanted a fish tank--so it worked out.
i did buy a little catfish that isn't a cory cat, but comes from the same south american habitat. i haven't seen him in some time, so we don't know if he's still in there.
DH thought that new one was pretty cool.

someday when we get a bigger tank i want some schools of lemon, cardinal, and black tetras, too.
