My poor Godiva went to the vet today. I noticed one of her little teeth was loose, so I decided it was time to have her worked up for a dental cleaning and get that tooth pulled. This is a new vet for us, but I like her. She seems to be very knowledgeable.

Anyway, she noticed Godiva's breathing problems (after I warned her that her tongue turns blue when she gets stressed... she was pathetically meowing and snorting during the exam
), and she said that since her nostrils look large enough, that she likely has an elongated palate, especially given the look she was bred for.

Apparently, there is a surgery they can do for this. I am all for it, but I need to save the money. I think it would greatly improve her quality of life... she wouldn't snort so much and she would be able to breathe much easier. I'm glad there's something they can do.

So, has anyone had experience with this before?

P.S. They drew blood for the dental and she got a purple bandaid on her hind leg... poor Godiva is running around like she only has three legs. She won't even use the one leg because the bandage bothers her so much!
It's purple.. I think it looks cute!

Wow, I've never heard of it, but the new vet sounds really knowledgeable - it's great she picked it up
