I called the vet's office at the stroke of 6am, and got the bad news. At 10 years of age, parvo just turned out to require more fight than little Cabela had in her. She passed away at the vet's office very early this morning.

I want to think that Cabela had truly found a home here with us. Her loving soul with her kind ways was adopted into the fold of Jellicle cats faster than a new cat would have been, with all the Jellicle's loving her. She found joy and purpose in making it her duty to stand watch over the Jellicle Tribe, to guard them against any and all things that may come to pass. She even watched over them when daddy had that "flashy camera thing" out chasing them around.

I'll go into town in a bit and bring her home. She will rest in the garden alongside Mungojerri Yella, the little feral that became her friend.

So now she travels to the bridge, there I'm sure to do what she loved to do and did best...to gather all the little ones to her, to watch over them, and to keep them safe till we join them. I already miss you so much baby.

Oh my goodness i'm so sorry!
What a gorgeous girl she is as well

Cabela, the gates to Rainbow Bridge are open for you sweetie, so run fast over the bridge where all the other dogs are waiting for you, but be nice to all the kitties there like you were here on earth.

So sorry to get this update, Mike. Bless you and Cabela. Play happy and free over the Bridge, Big Dog! Say hello to a brindled lab/rottie named Wolfgang, he might even share some cheese treats with you!

Oh Mike, I'm so sorry. Cabela was such a wonderful D-O-G. May she play happily at the bridge.

Cabela, make sure that you keep a gray Main Coon named Hobbes safe. He's a bit bossy, but he'll be your friend if you scratch behind his ear.

I'm so sad to find out that Cabela has crossed the bridge. It is obvious that she was greatly loved by you and her Jellicle tribe and that she loved her Jellicle tribe very much. I hope you find comfort in knowing that you provided her with a very loving, happy home. I think a year's worth of happiness is worth more than a long life of sadness or neglect.

Aww... I'm so sorry. I'm sure she's found plenty of other RB kits to keep a watch over and I'm sure she's still looking out for your tribe from where she is now.

I'm so sorry to hear about Cabela, Mike.
By now she has probably met a couple of blonde cockers (Teddy Bear and Roxie) and a red and white cocker (Rex
) and a beagle (Angel).

I'm so sorry to hear about Cabela Mike! Hindsight is 20/20....most people assume a dog is vaccinated as it is so simple to do so.

Cablea is happily over the rainbow bridge doing what she does best-being guard dog to all other animals over there.

Mike, I am so very sorry for your loss. I went to bed last night just before this thread and I did not expect to see this, this morning. I am holding you & your family close to my heart today.

Cabela, what a gorgeous girl you are, what a wonderful soul you have. watch over those little ones at the bridge - they need you now, but when you have time, keep an eye on those that are still here as they love and miss you so much.

Run quickly to the bridge Cabela, rest well. You will be deeply missed

I will light a candle to help guide you home
