****SEE BOTTOM FOR UPDATE****
To call us back today so we can make an appointment today to take the kitties in to be fixed this week!
When they call us back (5:00-5:30ish), we'll get all the info and I'll let you all know the fixing date. I'm really happy to get them fixed.

Question for you guys though! Did your cats have to stay overnight? Did they have to wear a "cone"?

i took all of my girls to a low-cost clinic in the morning & picked them up at noon. then they slept pretty much the rest of the day & were back to normal the following day. none of them had to wear a cone. it really depends on whether your cat bothers her incision.
can't talk about boys because Chip was already fixed when i got him!

We just got Sadie spayed a 2 weeks ago this Thursday. She didn't stay overnight, but we had to take her in early in the morning about 8 and we didn't pick her up until about 6:30 that same evening. She's had to wear a cone also. The vet advised to have her wear it 24/7 but we let her have a bit of freedom when we were home. BUT we watched her constantly making sure she didn't lick or nibble at her stiches. We saw an increase in the attempts to nibble once they began to heal, which makes sense. Overall, we had a good experience, and she is healing great. She gets her stiches out tomorrow! We have 2 cats so the toughest part was keeping them apart for the first few days. They are head over heals for each other and have always cried when they are apart
When we started back to work after the holidays, we kept one in the bedroom and the other in the living room, I'm sure they cried all day and tried to break down the door
With only one day to go we trust them together again
Good luck and happy healing to you and your loves.

Neither of our kitties had to stay overnight. They wanted to keep Mika since she had some difficulty with the anaesthesia, but we begged and promised we would keep a very close eye on her and rush her to emergency vet is required. She was fine - never had to wear a cone. Bijou didn't even have stitches - they just pulled the incision together and he was fine.

Neither Loki nor Jacob had to stay overnight or wear a cone, but they're both boys so it is probably different.

Tomorrow we'll have to make the appointment because by the time we were able to get through to the vet, it was too late. I'll let you all know tomorrow. I hope they can do what they did with Yosemite's kitty-no stitches.

It's probably some tissue glue but it doesn't hold though, maybe those dissolving stitches? I know my Daisy had allergic reaction to the stitches so the vet had to put tissue glue and apply some antibiotic powder.

I took my two cats in at 8am and picked them up 7pm so I didn't have them stay over night. The doctor ordered us to be quiet to let them sleep. They were required to wear the buster collar for 2 weeks.

****UPDATE****

We talked to the veterinarian today, and we have an appointment made for tomorrow morning. They have to be dropped off between 8am-9am.
They don't have to stay overnight, but it may be around 7pm-8pm before we can pick them up. I'm so glad we're getting them fixed!
