Kandie is going to be taking Baytril to hopefully get rid of her UTI.... Any experience with this drug and senior cats would be helpful... I ask since my vet tried amoxillin and clavomox first( I was cool with it ) ... But after she talked to the accupucturist she want to try Baytril( orginally she said Kandie was out of the age range she like s to use it for )

Willow's been on it for bladder problems--she's 8 now but was 6 or 7 at the time. Baytril was also one of the only antibiotics that Spot's stomach could handle--all others gave him diarrhea. Spot was definitely a senior, though we never determined his age. He was getting Baytril for recurring abscesses on his head, and later for a nasal infection. Eventually, the abscesses did go away. I hadn't heard anything about Baytril not being used in senior cats before. Did your acupuncturist mention why?

the accupucterist told the vet to use it ... she thinks the infection may be going into Kandies already weak kidneys ... The vet said she hasnt had good results and I guess it can be hard on the kidneys... so were trying it ...
