Well....the time has finally come around again for my nexy litter of foster kittens to be placed up for adoption. I origionally took in a litter of 5 boys a few months ago. A few weeks ago, the biggest, healthies 3, Blazer, Magnum, and Pirazzi were placed up for adoption and all found excellent homes!!
Now it's Ruger and Kolars turns! Both are doing wonderful now and Kolar's little eye is completly healed up to the shock of everyone
(for those of you who remember- we thought he was going to loose his little eye a while back) Well no worries now! Both the boys are healthy and strong now!!
On Wednesday, I will be taking the up to the shelter and on Thurs if all goes well they will be neutered and placed up for adoption after they heal
Wish them luck!!!!! Also- i found out this week that the shelter is hiring full time now- so i'm applying for a job there (they pay is AWESOME! and the benifits are too!)

Aww, good luck, boys! It seems like just yesterday you were asking for help naming them, and now they're off to find furr-ever homes. What good care you've given them, especially little Kolar!

I wanted to keep Blazer (but he's already been adopted)..and Colin was thinking about keeping Ruger....however since there was SUCH a high interest in the kittens at the shelter and we already had excellent homes lined up...we decided to go ahead and place them in their new homes....there will always be more kitties to help and countless more to foster....no doubt, we will probably adopt more at some point....so it really hurts to give these furbabies up when i've bonded with them soo much- but i just can't turn down such great homes right now. So we're going to do what's in the best interest of the kittens and adopt them out. But if thing's don't work out for whatever reason-
i will keep them
/ 3 already have homes, it's just ruger and kolar who are waiting now. there's already been several inquiries about them so we'll see where those lead to! I think Colin and I decided that if we did decide to adopt anyone...it would be one of the adult kitties at the shelter that are special needs....simply because they often get over looked and we could give one an aweosme home! The one i really liked (chocolate point siamese) Nile, found a home recently....so we'll see what we get next
/ I think we're going to wait a while and see what happens with this dog Colin was thinking of adopting from a friend first. If we do wind up adopting a new dog...we want to train it first and make sure it is introduced properly before introducing a new kitten/cat to it.....to make sure the dog knows we're the "pack leader" and how to react properly to kitties
/ I'm not sure we're going to get Digger (the dog we were thinking about) after all...Colin really hasn't said much lately about him, so i'm thinking he's now wanting to adopt him now...I have however had my eye two GORGEOUS little greyhoud girls that need homes at Midsouth Greyhound Adoption Option - they rescue from southland greyhound park and adopt out to good homes. Both girls i like get along well with kitties and are pretty calm -which would be good with Fosters and my other animals...so we'll see
I hope we are able to give some animal a nice forever home soon! And reguardless, i will always foster

Me too! None are assigned yet for the latest two- we'll scan them and see how well they interact and get along with the kittens before finalizing anything- but there has been a lot of interest in them

It must be kind of bittersweet, you are happy for them but you will miss them.

!!!! my mom thinks I should go to school to be a vet but idk...she said I can choose not to euthhinize (sorry for spelling) and also I would really like to open a shelter myself there are so many animals out here and i heard through someone that the humane society is doing stuff illegal here and so they might be getting shut down so there will be more if that happens that are homeless

Thankyou everyone!!! I spoiled the kittens tonight and gave them a little baked chicken
They love chicken
I'm gonna miss those little guys!!!! / Oh I found more out about the job today!!
It's Thrs-Sun 30 hours in a week and it's pretty much everything i do already (walk animals, spend time with them, clean cages, organize the office, oversee adoptions, wash animals, administer meds) it's everything i do now when i'm there i'll just be getting paid for it
Which works out perfect!!! I'm sooo excited! Colin's turning in my application tomorrow on my way to city hall...hehe, and the guy who hires knows him on a first name basis (since he interacts with the cops all day long) so that will help
I'm really hoping i get this one.

Colin turned in my application for me today when i was at work
