Hello to all...this is my first time here and let me first say thank you! What a wonderful site.

On to my problem and question...my one year old male, yellow tabby who is the love of my life has a problem with his left paw pads. The pads which are normally pink have several areas which appear to be blackened and rough to the touch. He favors the paw ocassionally holding it up and licks it. I have felt the pads and don't feel anything imbedded, but it does seem to be sore. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Hi and welcome!

You really need to take him to the vet as soon as possible. I don't want to scare you too much, but blackened tissue could be a sign of gangrene setting in for whatever reason.

Please don't wait and get him to the vet ASAP. And please tell us what the vet said.

Best of health to both of you!
