Barefoot unless it is really cold then I will wear my fluffy slippers or socks, and like Natalie, I get into my jammies as soon as I get home and then get dressed again if I want/have to go out

Used to go barefoot or in socks at home, until I was rounding a corner at top speed going into a room a couple of years ago, misjudged and crashed my foot into the corner of the door and broke a toe! Since then, I've been careful - no socks, no barefeet, slippers with some "fight-back" to them because I definitely don't want to repeat that experience. I was home alone at the time and had to drive myself to the hospital, crawl up the steep hill to the emergency entrance (from the parking lot) and hop into the emergency room. When the doctor reset the toe (it was snapped right at the base), the scream I let out made him turn white! And he said that there was no need for a pain needle - that it would hurt more than resetting the toe! Sure - I believe you - and pigs fly! Anyway, had to go to Ottawa for work a couple of days later and found when I got there that all the taxis were on strike and had to walk (!!!) about 1/2 mile each day to my meeting on a broken toe that they couldn't splint! Never again!

I need my socks which I wear with moccasins at home. I also change into casual clothes after work. I hate being barefoot and I don't like people barefoot on my carpets - it's really not good for them. The oils from our skin stays in the carpets and cause odors. I'd prefer folks to wear their shoes or at least socks when visiting.

I never wear shoes in the house - take them off the minute I get in. I do generally wear socks though as I don't like the feel of carpet/lino on bare feet
I think it's partly because I have pigeon toes so the tips of my toes touch the floor and I just don't like the way that feels! Kitchen floor is also a bit cold for bare feet.

I wear slippers in the wintertime with socks.

Only because whoever redid the house last tore up the floors and discovered the sub floors to be dark wood. So they're substituting the sub floors for wood floors.

In the winter my toes are COLD because of this.

In late spring to fall I prefer to be barefoot. I have socks and these really good (new) slipper moccaisins on right now. The the variety of heat zones in our house in the winter if I'm on the hardwood/tile floors-they are way too cold for barefeet. I think i am done buying "slip-on" slippers as I seem to trip going up the stairs. Plus in the winter my feet are cold-them get clammy -then they sweat. Weird I know-sometimes I will take the hairdryer to my feet to warm them up (but no need wih my new Lands End primaloft moc's)
They keep your keep toasty (and they are on sale right now!!)

I agree even though I don't have pigeon toes. Socks in the summer, socks and slippers in the winter. Way too cold in the winter for barefeet. (Yes, we have a furnace, but keep it pretty cool to save $ and environment) Also don't like the feeling of crumbs under my feet since my dog likes to carry his dry food whereever I am and he doesn't lick up the crumbs--never mind the dirt from the furless children.

I'm always barefoot inside. Fortunately, it's warm enough in Hawaii to do that. I wear slip on sandals when I go out. That works because my normal outfit is shorts and t-shirt year round. I've come to hate lace up shoes or dress pumps. My feet feel too confined in them.
