We have a 13 y/o male, nuetered, housecat and we purchased yesterday from a cat show a retired 2 1/2 y/o, male, nuetered Maine Coon.

Our housecat has urinated in the house. I'm not sure where yet but when I woke up and walked outside of our bedroom, the upstairs and downstairs of our house smells of urine.

The new cat is in our materbathroom right now so I know it is from our older cat.

I don't know what to do? Any help, advice, antyhing would be helpful at this point.

Usually this is a sign of territory-marking, however if you are sure it is your older cat, then he/she needs to see a vet. Any urinating outside the box is an indication something is wrong. Perhaps you could call your vet and explain the situation and get some advice, or again the question could be, did you introduce them properly?

The older cat is showing the new cat where the boundaries are... and not to cross them! I doubt if anything is suddenly wrong with his bladder, but you could always check it out to be sure. You may have to get another litter box for the new cat (more are always better anyhow), and just hope the behaviour settles down when they get to know each other better.

We just got the cat yesterday. He is currently in my bathroom and has not been outside of the bathroom. I have not introduced the two of them yet. The two cats have seperate litter boxes as well.

I did read the post about introducing a new cat over a period of several weeks. Is there anything I can do preventing further markings?
