Our house was built 1976 or 1977. Its a quad level. The top level has the three bedroom (one is my computer/craft room), the over the top bathroom (all limestone shower/separate whirlpool tub, the next level down has "formal" living room, half bath, kitchen/dining area. The next level is the family room with another half bath and separate laundry area. This room is big 24 x 25 with walkout to outside. The basement has a seperate pantry and yes another bathroom-this with a shower and a sink. We have an attached 2 car garage, my potting shed which is 2 rooms 8x8 and 8 x3. Then there is "Neil" garage a 24 x 28 two story -it looks like a barn-fieldstone around the entire 1st floor. Between the two garages are the brick walkways we installed this year. The brick patio runs the length of Neil's garage and is about 16 ft wide. Our house is on 5 1/4 acres.
Up at the farm we have a very rundown 2 story house that if we don't get snow we cannot have the fire dept burn down this yr (not worth fixing-trust me!!) I don't know how big the barn is -thats about75-100 yrs old-typical dairy barn for Wisconsin. This is on 79 acres.

2 bedrooms and a loft, 2.5 bathrooms. It's a good setup, but I want a finished basement in my next house to use as my movie/game/sports/guy room.

When mine is finished (HA ha) it will have 5 BR, 3 BA, huge living room with mezzanine study/library over it, 2 kitchens, separate laundry/utility and large entrance hall. It will be possible to divide part of it off to use as guest/rented holiday accommodation. Outside there is a stone terrace at the front, a gravel patio/garden at the back and a separate lawned garden. Plus two fields, two barns and an old stone pig sty for which I have not yet found a use.

Just wondering about you all..........I would definitely say I have a typical home. We have two bedrooms downstairs, one being used as our office and there are two guest rooms upstairs with a small attic..........

What's yours like? Post pics if you have them.

My ex hubby and I many moons ago rented a studio apartment while living in Hawaii, so it was one room we lived in with a small bathroom.......I wouldn't recommend that to anyone!
Try fighting withsome when there's no other room to go into and slam the door!
My ex and i lived like that!
I am so glad i live in a one bedroom apartment now! and ALONE!

I live on the second floor of a two-family, but my apartment is actually the size of a small house, around 1250 square feet. I have a large living, dining, kitchen, two bedrooms and 1 bath. I love it!

750 square feet. We have a living room, a tiny kitchen, a library/dining room, a smallish bedroom, and a tiny bathroom. With such a small space we've learned to do what we can to "create" rooms. Our couch divides our living room into two different spaces. One for our computer one for our TV.

I live in a 1232 sq ft double wide with 3 bedrooms and 2 full baths and small utility room, and typical for my area it is in the corner of a cow pasture. We added a covered single car garage and a 10 x 16 covered front porch.

I have a 3 bedroom, 2-1/2 bath house with a full basement and huge sun porch. It's normal size for the neighborhood, but larger than most average houses (over 3300 square feet). Steve and I don't need the size for us, but the critters sure love the extra space. It sits on a lot just shy of 3 acres and backs up to a small community lake. 2 acres are fenced for the dogs.

Here's the view of the backyard off the deck (just realized we don't have a good picture of the house itself):

The pool was just opened for the summer and its still dirty. The smaller pool behind it is for the dogs, that is when they aren't in the lake.

And while you may all think buying on a house was really expensive, it is FAR cheaper to buy a home in this area than most of the rest of the country. My friends in the Denver area bought a 1200 square foot home on a postage stamp sized lot for the same price.

Not sure about where you live but in some of the cities here people still put out hummingbird feeders and they do get some of them don't know if you have a balcony or not.

I live in the only part of London I can afford (barely) and I only live here because of work - and it's still a 1.5 hour commute each way. There are many places in England I would rather live. In fact pretty much anywhere! I'm a rural girl at heart
I have never even been to any of the big cities in the US although I would like to visit London if I could get there without flying or a boat I like boats when I can still see land but not otherwise. I am deathly affraid that if I am on a boat it will sink and a shark will get me. And I am terrified of heights so no flying for me. Maybe I could send you some postcards of Kentucky sometime another. I do understand the being a rural girl at heart. But there are alot of downfalls to living in a rural area for one the job market is very tight and everyone knows everyone. There is nothing that happens that the whole town doesn't know about before nighttime. And in my area I got blessed with alot of idiots all on dope. And most of the idiots let the dogs run loose but they want you to keep your dogs put up or they threaten to shoot them. But mine are in a fenced yard anyway. So the rural life isn't always a good thing but if you get the right area and neighbors then there's nothing better atleast for me. And I live miles from anyone so I don't have to deal with the villiage idiots.

we have a 3 bed 2 bath with 2 car garage with a LR, DR, kitchen with breakfast area, and a huge living room. The master closet could also function as a bedroom if needed( we would have to take all our clothes out though lol) We are on a 6000 sq ft corner lot ( i think its bigger than that but thats what the builder said all the lots were sized ( hes bsing us and the city i think)

Our home is 1747 sq ft lving space. Not sure what style home it is though.

Our previous home in Mississippi was 2000+ sq ft with 3 bed 2 bath family room, living room, kitchen, dining room, and huge utility room. Ranch style home on 1/2 acre. We had to downsize when we moved to Texas but we love our new house. Its a bit smaller but a bit nicer.

Our previous home in MS, if we could have brought it to Texas and put it on a 1/2 acre lot would have sold for in excess of 150K- 200K. We bought it 5 years ago for 70K and sold it for 90K (after some major renovations). The home we live in now was listed at 140K.

Big difference in economies huh?

We have a 5 bedrooms (only 2 being used as bedrooms though), 1 bathroom (plus a toilet/sink in the laundry room), kitchen, sun room, dining room, HUGE living room.

This is the front of the house. This wasn't taken today, but its the only picture I have of it. It used to be a public school back in the 70's/80's.

Heres a view from one end of the house.

Heres the dining room/sun room. It still has the tables set up from Christmas because they are really heavy and nobody wants to take them down.
The big one on the left is usually the one there.

Heres the living room. Don't mind the mess.

Back to the snowy pictures from a couple months ago. Heres a view of the front/side yard.
