Are you an early bird or a night owl?

I've been a night owl all my life, until the last year or so. It seems the corporate world has turned me into an early bird. I can wake up without an alarm clock and I wake up wide awake. I have to say it's the great feeling in the world to me. I love leaving the house while it is still dark out and seeing the sun rise. I'm in the office by 7 but usually earlier.

I am more of a day person. but I can be a night owl.

I used to be a morning person, and would happily leap out of bed to go for a 6am bike ride/swim/workout. But DH is NOT a morning person, and I can't train anymore, so now I can't get out of bed in the mornings!!

And we work together now, so we're struggling to be at work by 9:30am....

Ummm... well... it's hard for me to say. I've worked every schedule from 8am-5pm to 9pm-8am. Mostly I enjoy second shift (getting out of work anywhere from 7pm to 10pm) because I miss all of rush hour and I get a nice differential for working past 7. I guess I'm not really a night owl and not really a morning person.

Need you ask??? I'm on TCS until 3am most nights!

I'm not really a morning person, though I can function reasonably well at most any hour, once I've been vertical for 30 minutes or so. I used to be something of a night owl, but not so much anymore -- guess I'm just getting old. I'm usually up until 11, often midnight, but it better not be any later if I need to be up next morning.

I'm such a terrible night owl. I do my best thinking in the dead of the night...too bad seeing as how it doesn't help that I have to get up at 5:30 or earlier everymorning save some saterdays. I don't feel normal until about 11:30am or so.

I am definitely a night owl. I have to force myself to go to bed ontime so that I can get up in the morning. Most nights it doesn't work out for me. I hate getting up in the dark, my body and mind feels it should still be sleeping. After all, that's what we're supposed to do in the dark!

Evidently night, I am listening to pouring rain, I hate the rain with a passion.
It makes a mess. I start thinking of all the Animals that don't have anyone to give them a warm place. Why on earth does one have to think that way? So now I can't sleep.

I am neither...I love to sleep in on the weekend, BUT if I stay up too late, I get cranky and irritable So, I guess I love sleep alot...but when I do get up early I am very chipper and as far as moods go, I am way more peppy in the morning then late at night

Did that all even make sense?

I'm really more the "day" person. My "Sleep-in" days I sleep until 8:30, 9:00 am if I was up real late.

Otherwise the rest of the week I pretend to be an early bird. I'm always ready for a nap at 3 though.

I used to be a night owl. I would stay up until 3am and then sleep in until noon. Then I moved in with my boyfriend, got a full-time job with regular hours, and adopted two cats. Suddenly I'm up at 5am every day (even on weekends -- thank you sooo much, Spike! ) and I have to go to bed at 10pm or I'm completely useless the next day. I do enjoy being up in the mornings, however; I get a lot of things done.

I'm a natural night owl, but due to my job(s) I am forced to be up early, 5 a.m. during the week and no later than 8 on the weekends, but most people know not to talk to me until at least 9

Neither! I am always tired (blame that on being anemic) so I try to be in bed early, and I have so much trouble getting up in the mornings!!

Give me a weeks vacation and I will fall asleep at 10-11 and not wake up until midday! Then I am back to sleep around the same time. 8 hours just does not do the trick for me

I'm a early bird!

Deffinatley a night owl! On my vacation last week I stayed up till 2 and 3 each night. It was beautiful. I didn't have to fight my inner nature.....

Early bird for me! I have a hard time sleeping past 6:00 AM
post #28 of 34
There is no such thing as morning... it's a myth. I don't know why but daylight gives me an urge to sleep. I can be fully rested, but I can always take a nap when natural daylight is present.

Early bird--up at 5am during the week to walk with my neighbor and my dog for and hour or so. This winter has been great with the warm weather, but will be happy when its at least light out when we get home at 6:30. Like to be in bed by 9:30, but that doesn't always happen.

When I was a child, I slept about 10 hours a week (bad, scary childhood, long story), but when I was in my twenties, I started sleeping.

I love my sleep now, but can stay up all night easily. Getting up is always difficult!

Cheers, from
