As alot of you probably know, I've been dealing with Carpal Tunnel Syndrome for a few months. Tomorrow I'm going into outpatient tomorrow for Carpal Release Surgery on my left hand. After about 10 days I'll have to schedule to have the right one done.

I'm pretty nervous so vibes are appreciated
I'm hoping that I can manage because as some may know, I walk with crutches, so that may prove to be a bit more difficult with a wrist splint. Also around the house I use my left hand to do alot while using a crutch in my right hand....actually when I get the right one done, writing, eating and going to the bathroom will probably be more interesting!

...oh and celebration is in order as I believe this is the first time I've used any TCS terminology (vibes) in a post

I'm sending lots of vibes your way. My mom is much happier after having that surgery done on her wrist. I hope you have a smooth recovery!

Thanks, but that's about the only lingo I know so far

It's sure going to be a boring month. I'm a drummer/bass player too so I won't be able to do either, and I'm sure I won't be on the computer much either. Just layed out on the couch yelling for my wife to bring me food
If I didn't have the crutches and had access to my other hand I'm sure she'd just tell me to get it myself
I am hoping that though that the splint doesn't hinder me too much.

When you had yours were you completely knocked out? The doctor gave me too many details about the prep and the surgery and I don't want to be aware of any of it *lol*

Well what they gave me was like a Paralytic (Versed) & Some Sedation, You won't know anything, I beleive ( Don't quote me)
That the Versed makes it so you can't move when there working in that small area on your wrist. I had not one problem at all didn't even hurt after the Surgery, That was a long time ago so I would tend to think things are better now...You'll do fine I'm sure.

You'll do great! Lots of positive energy coming from waaaayyyy over here!!

I was awake, no sedatives even for my surgery on my finger not too long ago...the surgeons were amused that I actually sang to them!!!
And the aneasthetist was bored since my blood pressure was sooo good the whole time that he ended up being the photographer and now, I'm known as the crazy cat lady in the micro-surgery department!!!

Good luck! I've had the surgery a couple of times, under local anesthesia, as I've had the problem for a little over 30 years. Get used to typing one-handed for awhile. I hate to say it, but the surgery didn't do me any good - the CTS came right back. I resort to smashing the lump/"capsule" against the tiled bathroom wall, and wrapping my wrist tightly to prevent more fluid build-up. My orthopedic surgeon finds that drastic, but admits that it's no different from him "crushing" the capsule(s).
