This evening while picking up some fix-em-up's at the Lowe's store, I saw that they had LED flashlights on sale, so I bought one of the middle priced ones. It had a 1 watt LED, which is supposed to be moderately powerful from what I've read.
I was walking Cabela tonight and had the light with me, so I turned it on to try it out. I pointed it back toward the house (about 120 meters away), and the eyes of the 2 cats in the window shined a glistening blue. It was amazing, and quite a pretty blue too.
So, if you have a cat thats prone to darting out doors or wandering off, it might be handy to have an LED flashlight. If a cat is scared and hiding but still watching, it might make them lots easier to spot at night.
Just thought I'd mention that
