That would be so wonderful to have fresh bananas like that Amigo! I hear though that banana trees attract banana spiders!

How many of you noticed that I put 06 as the year on this thread!?
I help my mom with her garden and I have a tomato plant on my balcony every year. But my favorite veggie is Brussel sprouts.
Lotsa veggies to grow, especially this year with the new place. Used to be farmland, so good soil.

Favorite - taters of course. YUM!

As an apartment dweller with no yard I don't have a garden. I dream of having one one day though. I'm going to grow tomatoes, broccoli, garlic, herbs, okra, squash, green beans, and maybe pumpkins and gourds in the fall. OH, and strawberries! Hard to keep those little boogers contained though. They spread like wildfire.

I see it now.
Didn't even notice.

No, but I do grow fresh herbs on my balcony in the spring and freeze them for the winter.

I am a HUGE tomato fan.

Grow tons of flowers, but it's a small lot so don't want to put any of the gardens into veggies! I do love them though, and had veggie gardens for years before I moved here! Love just about all types of veggies - fresh from the garden is best! We have a wonderful market on my way home from work during growing season where I can pick up fresh produce (it's a fruit/veggie stand at a farm) - it's fantastic!

That is exactly what I was going to say.

We grow tomatoes, asparagus, peppers, cucumbers, spinach, lettuce and string beans. Sometimes I throw in eggplant or zucchini.

My favorites are broccoli and cucumbers.
I don't myself. But back when I was a kid I loved planting and picking pea pods in my Grandpa's garden.
No garden for me, although I would love to have one
post #24 of 28
I grow tomatos every year and peppers sometimes. Everything else is beyond me.
Well where should I start....
We have had an asparagus bed for a long time plus lots of wild asparagus too.
I grow heirloom tomatoes (4-5 kinds ) for me and Roma's for a client.
Green, red, sweet peppers, red and white onions, sometimes shallots and leeks.
broom corn, yellow corn for freezing and a couple kinds of bi-color corn.
2-3 types of potatoes, green beans, peas, radish, different lettuce. Also broccoli, a couple kinds of carrots. Once in a while I might grow cucumbers and bush zucchini. Dad grows the squash and the strawberries. Plus the cherry, apple, raspberries, pear and plum trees.

I threaten to plant a veggie garden every year, but so far I haven't managed to get around to it. If I did, though, I'd have a ton of tomatoes.
we don't grow one here, but I can tell you what my favorite veggies are..

baby carrots (loved them ever since I was a kid and I love eating them!) they are a special treat for me.

cucumbers

peas in the pod (can't stand them out of the pod. )

tomatoes

celery

broccoli

artichokes

corn - especially corn on the cob

banana peppers

I don't really care for cauliflower, green beans, lima beans,
asparagus, or beets, though. but I love most veggies. especially the ones I listed above.

ok, I have grown a garden once....I did ok with green beans (the only thing I've ever been able to grow at all!), but my cucumbers came out like oranges....the looked like round balls.... and my tomatoes ended up green, and got eaten by bugs....I did buy once a pepper plant and plant that into the ground....it did ok for 1 summer.

My fave veggies to eat: corn on the cob , Jersey tomatoes so good you salt the heck out of them & eat them like an apple!, brocoli (I eat this the most!), and green beans....
