Exotic breed...Anyone here a breeder I have some questions

Sharky, I thought long-haired exotics and persians were two separate breeds. Am I wrong? Or is that just a CFA thing? They look the same to me, but I'm far from knowledgeable on this topic.
Its a CFA thing - since exotics are "shorthair" persians and long hair exotics are a product of persian/exotics, they are considered seperated.
Is the pedigree of exotics that different from persians? Are there any physical differences that my untrained eye is not picking up?
Since they are supposed to be "shorthair" persians, the standard would be for the persian - just the coat lenght is different; the body, head, etc. would be the same.
I forgot that longhair exotics could be from 2 SH's since LH is recessive
