Since I work for a pet products company I drop off shampoo and I offer to groom dogs that come in and are exceptionally dirty or matted. I haven't had to go often though.
You know...my Ginger might just be an exception to the rule...but she is AWESOME around kids and small animals. We started her out as a puppy knowing that we were the "pack leaders" so to speak and that aggression/ dominance wasn't tolerated. She is an incredable little girl!
She however does not like men unless she knows them....but once she gets to know them - she is fine around them and will cover them in kisses
. She doesn't like some men because when I was younger...my dad broke into our house and beat my mom up in an attempt to kidnap me. I was in my bedroom (in the back of the duplex) at the time with Ginger in my room....you have never seen anything until you see a wolf go after someone- she about tore his arm off chasing him out of our house protecting my mom and I. It gave us time to call the cops and get rid of my dad. Had it not been for Ginger- there's no telling what would have happened- she saved our lives that day..and i've always had a really special connection with her ever since. She is definitely my mom's baby though- she sleeps with her every single night and they are best friends
That's why she stays at my mom's house, not colin's with me. Her and my mom are inseperable
. So although there's some controversey about owning hybrids/ mixes ....i have to say- as far as my girl goes- i couldn't have been blessed with a better dog
She does yodle and howly though
It'd kinda cute- but she never bites and is exceptionally gentle around kids and other animals...keep in mind though- i've had her from a pup and we've had a chance to raise her and establish ourselves as her pack leader- so she responds well to that.
I would definitely not mind adopting another wolf mix if the opportunity ever presented itself...
