Is this a Main Coon?

This cat has been coming around for a while now. he knows i have been feeding the ferals. lol He is HUGE, I'd guess between 23-25lbs! He is very mouthy and mean, too. He yells at me as if he is starving, until I give in and give him some food! lol

I don't see maine coon - his face reminds me of a bobcat/lynx. He might be part wild cat with the "meaness" and the size. Maines usually don't get bigger then 17-18 lbs and that's pretty big. I've only seen a few at the shows (males) that were that size - most ran about 15 for full grown males.

But a bobcat/lynx would get in the 20's like that boy!

I, on the other hand do see a Maine coon in him! The current No.1 cat in Asia is around 16 mo old and is already 18lbs and he has another 3 years of growing at least!

Maybe cleaned up he'd look more maine coonish - its hard to tell - still reminds me more of a ferel wild cat

i've read where the Maine Coon can go over 20 lbs. He is a pretty cat...

It really isn't common though. Ragdolls can also reach 20-25 pounds, but really average around 18-20 or so. Any thing can have an exception to the average. I have heard of some one on this site seeing a ragdoll male that weighed 28 pounds, at a cat show, certainly possible just not common. So they can exceed the "average" and be larger same as maine coons or any other breed.

I also agree he looks like a bob cat. He probley isn't I guess, but that was my first thought when I saw him

I have a moggie that looks just like the cat in the picture except she is darker in color. She isn't exceptionally large though. I have no idea what she is a mix of but she is a very sweet domestic cat.

My first thought was a bobcat with a tail...lol. Seriously though, his face looks totally bobcat.

Whatever he is, hes a cutie!!

A big ole Tom Cat is what he looks like to me, Look at those jowl's

Yeah a tom, but a WILD cat tom

Glad I'm not the only one that thinks he looks a bit bobcatish
