I just realised why my apartment is so cold.

The front door is pretty much in the middle of the house, and as i walked past it the floor was pretty much frozen!!

Now i know why my poor bunny has the flu!

My mother told me to make one of those long snakey things but its a problem as i dont have a sewing machine, or fabric and im not sure what im supposed to fill the stuffing up with!

Do any of you people know what im on about??? and have any ideas what i can do?

I was thinking of using an old stocking/tights.. and filling it up with old pillow stuffing?

Or do you think i need to call the landlord to change the door?

I get a cool draft under my apartment door. I just rolled a large bath towel into the shape of a log and put it against the door. You don't need to have a special "snakey thing", a rolled up towel will do the same thing.

I would contact the landlord though. Sounds like the weather stripping on the door frame needs to be replaced. If new weather stripping doesn't work, they may have to remove the door and the frame and pack in some more insulation.

Yes, it's called a draft catcher.

I was looking for one too...however I can't seem to find one around here.

since you're renting call the landlord. Draft catchers also come in a way that will attach at the bottom of the door so that you won't have to kick a snake out of the way.

But if you get the snakey thing, get one with some character doing the splits..that cracks me up!

You (or your landlord) can install a door sweep that will seal the bottom of the door when it's closed. It doesn't cost much and is easy to install (it is like a big windshield wiper).

well my mother brought over the snakey thing that she bought back in Australia, she doesnt need it anyway but the door i have is longer, so i needed to make something new ( i wouldnt waste my money on buying them as i find them way too expensive!)

So i found another solution!

My mother bought me those knee high toed socks, And since i think they are ugly but colourful to my apartment i filled it up with those peanut foam things!

My ss pretty much filled up the whole box of it so i got plenty!

So now it just looks like i got two hand things laying by the door!!

Kaylee absolutely loves it though! she wouldnt stop hugging it and attacking it so i think it was a hit.. now i just need double sided tape so i can attach it to the door
