Is the tree down yet?

So when did you (or will you) take down the Christmas tree?

My mom taught me this supestition about waiting until after the new year to take it down. She said that if you wait you will be prosperous in the new year.

I would like to take it down while I'm off from work, but I'm worried that then one of us will lose a job! Then I'll blame it all on taking the tree down BEFORE the new year.

I took mine down the Friday before Christmas. I couldn't look at that pitiful destroyed tree any longer!

no, I leave mine up for a few weeks.... all the work that goes into it, I'm going to enjoy it!

Mine's down. Yes, I know, I'm a Scrooge. Whatever.

Mine is still up.....but did consider taking it down, but more than likely will be up till after the 1st.

But usually I take it down after the new year out of pure laziness.

The traditional time to take it down is before midnight on 6th Jan, the 12th and last day of Christmas.

Mine came down before Christmas because someone was trying to eat it.

My Mom always said the opposite that you had to have your tree down BEFORE the first of the year to have good luck, the following year.

We don't take ours down until the Epiphany....January 6th.

That is when I usually take mine down but it stayed up longer last year

I just had one of those little fiber optic trees, and I did put it up this morning because I am doing housework, (when I am not on the internet)

I took mine down Christmas night...

I was in such a mood when I got home last night, only because I came home to find the tree BROKEN, I took off the ornaments and hauled the stupid thing out to the trash! Next year we get to buy a new fake tree!

I always take my tree down and put away all the Christmas decorations on New Years weekend.

I go with tradition and take mine down after Jan. 6.

i havent taken it down, but i have put away all the scattered ornaments on the floor

oh gosh did i get an evil look from them while i was packing them away!

Ours was down on the 27th. Couldn't wait, too much mess

Ours is coming down this weekend...it's been up for a month already.

I usually take it down after the first of the new year also.This year though, it came down last night!I wanted to move the cat tree back in front of my window for the kits to be able to look out.
