7 little wonders......HELP!

I will post in the lounge about my new foster babes, as I am so very pleased to help them out...BUT I think these 7 babes are between 3 and 4 weeks old. They are NOT taking the KMR very well - and I must admit I am having trouble with the nipple openings.

I remember stimulating Noodle's butt area after we botle fed her, but at what age can I discontinue this? I just brought these little guys home today after work - and attempted a feeding without much success

Thanks
Deb

You might want to call you vet and see if they have an alternate nipple you can use I am thinking what they might use for a baby squirrel. It is an elongated nipple that is easier for them to draw on.

About the nipple, sticking a hot needle in it never works for me, what you need to carefully do is to make an x with a very small sharp knife on the very tip of the nipple then fill it with water and squeeze so you can get to the flow down. Don't force the milk down at such a rate that you drown their lungs, and just keep stimulating their bums after they eat.

Good luck with this

Thanks Hissy - I felt I should still be stimulating them. I found an old bottle that we used for Noodles and that nipple will work better for me. They are so adorable. Poor babes....stuck with me to care for them! Boy, Goldie went NUTS when she heard them crying while I was trying to feed!
