My cat has ear mites, and I'm a little scared to use pesticide treatments due to reasons I won't say unless you really want to know, you may message me.

Anyway, I found this herbal treatment. I was wondering if I could get some opinions before I order it. Would you use it? Do you think it's safe and effective?

My main concern is that Marigold's are listed as a plant that is poisonous to cats. Do you think this should be a concern?

(Sorry if I'm not supposed to post outside links. Last time I posted an outside link it got deleted. I just would like an opinion.)

Please don't use anything on your cat's ears unless your vet has seen her and approoved it. There are specific treatments for mites only available through the vet. Anything else (including the marigolds) could poison her. Is htere any reason why you can't consult a vet?

I looked at the website and it makes lots of claims that can't be substantiated. Perhaps the best thing about the product is that it is in an olive oil base. A standard way to clean cat ears when infected with ear mites is with Baby oil and cotton swabs. If you don't know how to do this safely then a vet tech can show you and its a decent start to getting the mites under control. but to remove the mites will probably invlove a medication like ottomite drops etc.

I dont know why you want to avoid using this medicine. It works. But whatever peronal reason you have you might want to consider supressing that reason for the sake of your cat. If its a cost issue you might contact the nearest small, private cat rescue group in your area and asking if you can make a donation in exchange for mite medicine and instructions.
