Mine wont stop growing either. I mean before I got pregnant. I thought they would be done as soon as my height stopped. But I guess not.
And lets not even talk about how big they are now.

I said no - I don't have a little black dress as such, and rarely have such occasion to wear a dress! I'm a jeans girl

I do have a strapless, knee length black dress with a white flowery type pattern on it that I can wear if I need to dress up a bit. I'm just not a girly girl

Me too
I can't even remember the last time I wore a dress or skirt, so no, I don't own a little black dress.

Movin' on up!
I forgot about my black suit. It has a leopard-print collar and covered buttons. With black stockings and my leopard-print silk slingbacks, it goes from the office to dinner with ease.

Oh, no, I'm the only person who voted "What are you talking about?"

Why do you wear a black dress for things? I do own a black dress, but I've only worn it a couple times, and I don't think it's "all-occasion".

Someone explain.

This is what I have, too. It's a sleeveless small knit dress, so I can dress it up or down, boots or heels, winter or summer
. And it stretches (I put a long sweater or jacket or something over it when I'm a few pounds over)!

It's a quick solution for an unexpected event (like when my elderly neighbor died suddenly last month
) or a last minute invite to dinner with the HD's boss and his wife, etc.. Kinda a safe, last minute bet (and color) to have in your wardrobe. I got mine when I had to run out and get a dress for a funeral. I don't have the jacket anymore (I don't think-LOL), but the dress is really comfy and versatile, and it is a slip dress, so there really isn't anything to go badly out of style. It has saved my keister several times over the last few years
. This year I wore it to the HD's company's Christmas dinner, with a lightweight, flowy turquoise sweater and matching silver and topaz jewelry- fit right in
.

One day it will finally fade and wear out, and I may cry (especially since I am so hard to fit
!).

I used to...but got rid of it somewhere along the line. I do have a lot of clothes that are dressier than work clothes, usually my church clothes. Some are "lighter" for normal occasions, but some are dressier for the funerals and formal occasions. If it's not too last minute, I do like to splurge on myself and get a new outfit : )
I don't go to too many things other than church or funerals that I have to dress up for though. I do have a pretty black silk and tuile skirt I bought for graduation last year that I save for super formal things, though. So, I guess that's my little black dress, now

Contrary to popular belief, not everyone looks good wearing black

I'm what is considered a "vibrant summer" and I can wear colours from both summer and winter palettes, but when it comes to black I can only wear that below my waist, because if I wear it near my face I look washed out, very pale and sickly because I have very fair skin (IE: no tan).

EDIT: Oh, and another thing... not all of us are "little" enough to even wear a dress with "little" in the name

in a pile of open toed shoes!
well I wouldn't call a size 10 little either...
but I have a black halter dress that comes to the knee & is kinda swingy, as in not straight, if I turned in a circle it would spin out....you can wear a suit jacket over it, a twin set sweater over top, a sequined shrug, with strappy sandals to a beach front wedding, with pearls & heels to a black tie event....I think that fits in the "not-so-little, little black dress" catagory!

I wear a lot of black, and have one black dress in particular that could be called "all occasion", as it's easy to "dress up" or "dress down" with the proper shoes, jewelry, and other accessories.
