Ok, combine holiday exhaustion and 2 extra long boring legal contracts to proof read this afternoon, with no one being in my office building, then add a giant turkey hoagie filled with tripdefan (sp? the chemical in turkey that makes us
).......and what do you get?????

SOOOOO, I decided to have a lovely spot of tea!!!
and now I feel like I can keep my peepers open for a few hours more!

Is anyone else's 1st day back dragging like mine is????

I'm sorry, she was here, but now it seems she's on the floor under her desk with her head on the printer napping!

"Well Maam, when she awakens, can you please tell her that if she can stay awake long enough for the rest of her work day, (which is only 45 minutes or so) that her hubby Tom would like to treat her out to a night of dinner and dancing!"

Supposedly, the day when Churches would hand out the boxes of donations collected Christmas Eve / Christmas Day to the needy and in older days, the day when Lords would give out Christmas bonuses to serfs and hand out boxes of new tools / uniforms for the coming year.

To be honest I don't care which, I am just glad of the extra day off

That's so cool!
I never knew that.... so "boxing day" is about handing boxes to the needy?
That's a great reason to be off of work. It would be nice if people still did that this time of year.....

Now it is more similar to your Black Friday - just a day for shops to make a lot of money selling off left over gifts...
Boxing Day 2005 was the single largest economic transaction day ever in the history of Canadian commerce (according to Visa)
Although back home I remember that they do a dip in the Thames River for charity in fancy dress on Boxing Day, so I guess that comes close

now that IS really cool! It would be a nice idea for a charity type holiday, where we all pay it forward.....and maybe make our world a better place for everyone less fortunate....if I ruled the world.....
