John has a cold or something. And last night he spent the night throwing up. He sounds like a frog and has been coughing up a lung. I told him he was having sympathy sickness and he glared at me and said YOU WISH! But I had to laugh because his voice sounds so funny. Ive never seen him sick before. He's such a big baby. So we are having a boring day here!

Crap, what bad luck for him to be sick over Christmas!
I'm sure you're taking good care of him thought, Amber. And he's probably trying to take care of you I bet.

IA. If you need me, just meow..
Tell John I sympathize with him. I've been sick for 4 days now. The first sickness I've had all year. I can't seen to shake it. I've tried, Zicam, Robotussin. Thera flu, Tyenol cold and flu, nothing is getting rid of it. I am not throwing up though, thankfully. Just feeling like my heads going to pop and coughing up each lung in sequence. Maybe I should get some of that Mucenix stuff. I wonder if that'll help me?

Poor John, tell him to feel better soon from me!

Does he have a fever or sore throat? A cough PLUS throwing up sounds horrible. Sometimes strep can cause stomach symptoms though. I hope he feels better (and you don't get it - but don't tell him I said that part!)

His temp is 99.7 last time I checked but I gave him some Nyquil (all I had) adn hes passed out. So I dont know what his temp is now. It got up to 102.3 last night but it didnt stay there long. Yep his throat is sore. He says it hurts to swallon any liquid even. He winces any time I make him drink/eat.

Ooh - pretty high there - glad it went back down. If he hasn't been exposed to Strep he's probably ok (2-5 day incubation) but it's something to keep in mind, even in adults.

Well he wasnt directly. Could I carry it and not get sick? The little boy I'm a nanny for has strep and so does his dad. But Im not sick. My mom got sick the day after she was here taking care of us last weekend. Thats all that has been around John only me and my mom.

Well, yeah, technically you could be a carrier. Most likely he got it from your mom, but do you know all the symptoms to look out for & how to tell strep from a cold?

Well, I'm not a doctor of course - but what they say is that with strep you usually don't have any other cold symptoms like runny or stuffy nose, earache, or sneezing. Usually there's just a very sore throat, and sometimes nausea. Sometimes a person gets a rash. Oh - and it's more prevalent in some states than others - I think the Rocky Mountain states has it more.
