The boys haven't left my side all day. They keep purring and giving me head butts. Having them is a wonderful thing.
They are so sweet.

Purrs are very healing
I use Airborne alot; it even made me feel better when I was coming down with shingles (confirmed by blood work) on my one-day trip to San Diego and back (over 600 mi. of driving). There's an Airborne Night that has some calming herbs, too. And you can add ginger tea, and ginger gargles for sore throat, and have your DH steep you a blend of slippery elm and marshmallow root for your throat (simmer for 10 min.,to release medicinal properties).
As for visiting, the best gift that you can give is to stay home. Perhaps postpone your Christmas till New Year??? That is what I have to do
at least my grandson will get TWO Christmases

Thanks so much. I'm going to call my father when I get up and let him know what's going on. If I feel good, I'm going to ask if it's okay to come. If I feel bad then I'll tell him we'll see him next weekend.

I just talked to my SIL. She went on about how it's rough being sick on the holidays, but she didn't apologize. I'm going to walk away from this situation so I don't blow up at her.

I hope you feel better soon! I agree on the Airborne, that stuff seems to work pretty well... I took it the last time I went to a convention-- every single other weekend-long convention I'd gone to, I started feeling ill on Sunday and brought home some kind of a bug, but that time I actually came home healthy!
Actually I'm planning to start taking some Airborne tonight and continue tomorrow just in case any of my relatives come to Xmas dinner sick :p I seem to have a weak immune system, if something's going around I always catch it and get it bad. Hopefully the Airborne will fight anything off...

Keep up with the fluids and the kitty-purrs and rest and feel all the healing vibes from this board!

I hope you start to feel better soon gorgeous! Try and get some rest and relax a little bit.....If you're stressed out over your plans tomorrow and potentially canceling- it's not going to help your immune system- so try and just take it easy and deal with it as it happens. At least you get to spend Christmas with the most important and loving men in your life!!! That is such a blessing

You have my sympathies - I have woken up today with a nasty cold and an earache
but at least it hasn't ruined my plans since I didn't have any. I hope you feel better soon.

I just called my Dad, and he told us not to come.
He's worried that we may expose my Grandmother to it.

I've cried, gotten upset, and then settled in to watch 24 hours of A Christmas Story.

IA. If you need me, just meow..
Aw honey, I'm sorry your SIL was not using the brain in her head the other day.
If it's any consolation, I have the Christmas sickness too.
Not from nieces, but the general public. Aren't they great!?
I still have to go to my in laws though although I'm worried about the grandparents. One went through open heart surgery in the summer, one has cancer, the other is so frail, I worry that we will get them sick.
I guess we will see because they want us to come sick or not.

I'm sorry your sick!
I hate when people are sick or bring their sick kids around people. Keep them home till they are better!

I feel a little better, and I think the zinc is working. All I really feel like doing is sleeping.

Easy, but time consuming!
I worked an 8 hour shift that night- got off at 11:30pm and stayed up baking until almost 4:00am ...only to go to work at 10:30 Christmas eve ....I was a little sleep deprived
. I swear the kitchen was covered in flour and sprinkles
The cookies turned out sooooooooo yummy though! I made a homemade butter cream icing to put on them and it was really good! It was my first time making homemade icing....and it wasn't as bad as i thought it would be! I made 4 dozen...and they're almost all gone
That's what happens when 50+ people eat dessert
/ The peppermint almond bark turned out yummy too!
