ok i have been asked to put this on here by a freind of mine who has a problem. she adores cats but is highly allergic to them. she has noticed that she has no problem with being around cats when she's outside, but upon coming indoors gets itchy eyes and sometimes shortness of breath. and also if she gets scratched by one the scratch will itch and swell. so does anyone know if there is any way to delute these symtoms? will alergy shots help? or any certain allergy medicine that will help so she can be around one of her favorite animals without reacting? any suggestions will be appriciated. thanks!

You may want to PM Abbysmom. I know she's been dealing with allergies.

Im not getting any more rats after these ones are gone for this reason. The ones that are here are here till they die from old age. But after that no more.

It sounds like she needs to see another allergist. There are many medications to help deal with allergies. If she does not currently have a cat, the best thing would for her to get allergy shots, and once she was done with the first series, then adopt the cat. I take a few different medications to deal with my allergy, and I just started allergy shots a few months ago. Abby is not allowed in our bedroom, and I also wash my hands after petting her.

You have to be 18 years of age or older in order to access the PM system.
