why do cats do things like this?...

...like drinking out of the tub after someone has taken a bath in it or licking the water drops in the sink after someone has washed their hands, even though they have PLENTY of water in their dish? why? does the water taste better in there or something, peanuts?

does anyone else's cat do this, or is it just mine?

Oh the water always tastes better elsewhere, it's like the water in the cat's bowl goes sour after 10 seconds, anything else is a better option - straight out of the tap, out of my glass of water, licking it off the bottom of the sink...

Trout doesn't drink out of ther water bowl unles she is parched..she prefers to wait for the toilet to be free...when I am ON IT Of course I close the lid all the time, but if I forget thats where she goes

Oh...that is just gross! I thought my cats were bad! I'm terrible with dirty dishes! Usually, I will let them sit until I can't get another dish in the sink. But, I do rinse them, or fill them with water to "soak" (yes, I am a procrastinator!). My cats LOVE to drink out of "soaking" pots. I guess the added flavor appeals to them. Their favorite is the saghetti sauce pan. My NEW home will have a dishwasher so they will just have to suffer then!

haha ewww that gross glad peanuts hasnt thought of that...yet...because we have ones in the dishwasher to "soak" too!

Because they are cats? At least you guys dont have a cat that tries to dunk his head in any liquid he can find. Water bowl, dish water, bath tub and as of yesterday TOILET!

I have video of my two in the tub after my shower... they do it all the time... Ya gotta wonder why... I still haven't figured it out myself... but at least i know I'm not alone!!

U are not alone on it thats for sure...midnight sometimes will sneak in the sink but not as often as when he was little...Bella though she loves the sink and bathtub she always jump in there although the one day I caught her on the toilet yuck...so I yell if someone forgets to put the toliet seat down but shes always in my room so its not often and when they come out for their few hours a day bella is either laying on the towels or in the tub..that is when she isnt finding me....they love to lay on the towels used by the way...any one elses kitties do that?
