My darlin' Clyde is going on five years old now, and all his life, he's been a thrower-upper. He usually throws up at least once a day, immediately after eating. Dry food seems slightly more likely to cause it than canned.

We've taken Clydie to three or four different vets over the years, and none of them appears to consider this a serious issue. Clydie seems the very picture of health in every other way -- but I can't help wondering if there's something we're missing, something we could do to relieve this problem. Anyone have experience in this area?

Lily throws up if I put more then a tablespoon of food in her bowl at a time. Its because she eats it so fast. So 4 times a day she gets fed spoonful by spoonful. With about a minute in between spoonfuls. Sounds like Clyde is just eating his food to fast. Especially since its been going on all his life.

That's a good point. I would try the elevated bowl too, we had a siamese once that had problems with acid reflux, eating his food with his head up helped.

I'm another vote for the raised bowl.
Teddy has IBD, but his throwing up was actually not a symptom of that. Once we raised the food bowl, his vomiting stopped completely!

Another vote for an elevated food bowl, as well as putting something in the food bowl to slow down his eating in case he is just eating too quickly.

Bumper is the exact same ad has gone from throwing up every time he eats to about once a week.
We have these , the bowl is about two inches off the floor at the bottom part but helps a lot and put well cleaned small rocks (the decorative type you get) in the bowl so he has to eat around it which stops him for a few seconds at a time

I ordered two from ebay a while back, but I haven't seen any recently like them, there are lots of nice ones on ebay though.

Mine have their names on it instead of 'Kitty cafe'

Oh, what smart people we have on this site! Your ideas are excellent, and I will indeed try them all. I've been wishing for an excuse to do some woodworking, so now I can build my little ones a nice kitty serving bar.

Thank you all so much for your help!
I'll let you know how Clydie does...
