Pictures of the kitchen remodel

So were still at the "during" stage of remodel and will continue to add pics as we make progress. The before pictures are all of the previous occupant's furniture - dummy us didn't take any with our belongings there.

First the dining room: we had these ceiling beams straight out of 1972. As we removed them, the ceiling wood panels fell in, dropping insulation all over the room. We cut the wall out on the left side of the "before" picture to make the new opening to the kitchen. The small door at the back of the old room will be closed up.

Yesterday's progress: the entrance to the kitchen:

There was a small eating area and utility room off the kitchen. These 2 rooms will turn into the new kitchen. Don't have a pic of the old utility room.

Current progress - they got rid of the wall between the 2 rooms as of yesterday. The window in the first picture is the same window in the first of these 2. The second pic is more of where the utility room used to be (my dryer is still sitting forlorn in the corner):

The old kitchen is going to turn into a combination utility room, coat closet and mud room.

Progress as of yesterday: they are about to put in the new window within the utility room and perhaps get to the wall that closes off that room. The pipe on the left side is where the wall will be. The cats will have a huge window to look out of from their perch on a utility cabinet. The washer/dryer will be a food station.

I'm doing most of the cooking in my sun porch and some in the bathrooms. I get to do dishes in the bath tub until this is all done.
