Last night we had a phone call from J's mother, saying our engagement ring was ready! [insert happy dance here] J and I drove over and picked it up. It's too small (I have sausage fingers), but we'll take it with us when we go to my parents so that they can see it for Christmas, then we'll give it back to J's parents (who live in the same town as the jeweller who designed it) and they'll get it re-sized for us. It's a pale gold ring with an emerald in the middle and six channel-cut diamonds on either side of the emerald -- it's absolutely gorgeous and it's one-of-a-kind because it was designed just for me!
I was so surprised ... I didn't think there was any chance my ring would be ready for Christmas. I'm a bit sad that I can't wear it yet, but at least now I know it exists! Yay!
