I hope things went well! Dont worry about crying! I'm the same way and Ive gotten worse now that Im pregnant. I used to cry even as an adult any time anyone told me no. I would try really hard not to but I do.

Didn't get it..Just like I thought.

This was his reasoning, seriously tell me if this makes sense because I don't get it:

I started making comission after I became licenced in mid 2005, and then this fall, we all received a bonus since our office reached the ultimate goal for my boss to go on this trip...

Anyway, with these 2 aspects (comission and the bonus), I made about $5000more this year than last year. So since this is like a 17% increase, my boss thinks THATS my raise..Even though everyone in our office gets commission AND got the bonus too.. So it has nothing to do with MY performance.

So basically, I make the same money as the front desk girl who doesn't even sell anything..and had been there a year less than me.

Bottom line - Boss thinks that 17% increase is way enough
- I think I need some recognition for my PERSONAL progress..

What do you all think? I would love to hear from people in sales, or bosses of salespeople..or owners..ANYONE...tell me if I'm crazy.

My boss is the same, only I found out he gave someone else in the office a $4000 a year raise and not the rest of us when that persons performance is worse than anyone else I guess it pays to suck up to the boss

Time to switch to a new employer. This one is cheap and doesn't know how to reward/appreciate his employees. I can't imagine he has good employee retention!!

Yeah it was a rough day. Dang boss..I'm sure he certainly won't take some pay away from those that don't deserve as much as me either..

I guess I have to deal with it..I do make more than other insurance people around here..but I am single and live alone and I should be WAY more comfortable financially than I currently am

That really sucks Natalie, like it would kill him to give you 55c, like Eithne said. I'm union so I get a raise every year, but so does everyone else that does a half- a** job, I would love to get a performance based raise or bonus for once, especially when I do 200% of quota when are you due for another review?

I used to be in a union, and would get a raise every year..that was sweet. Although I did make less money then, but it was nice to get raises.

Probably next year for the next review..So I am gonna work my butt off for 2007!

Promise me...if next year, despite you having an incredible year, he again finds an excuse, please find an employer that will value you and don't spend another year trying to get a different result.
