My name is Lisa (Zenafluff) and I just joined this forum on December 19th because of an issue between my older cat and a newcomer, but I hope to stick around after it's resolved. You can read about that and offer advice here: http://www.thecatsite.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=108992

Anyways...

I have two cats. My first girl is Zena, she's 9 years old and is a beautiful brown/cream/black tabby/tortoiseshell (maybe?) mix whom I rescued from a farm that had lots of kittens. She's about 20 lbs. and has the belly that sways, lol. She's a spayed female. This girl is my bestest best buddy. I love her to pieces. My newest girl is Holly, a 9-week-old kitten I just got three days ago. She barely weighs a pound, is hyper as all get out, pretty vocal, and very affectionate so far. Even after only three days, I'm already attached to her.

I also care for four feral kitties outside - Smokey, Socks, Gracie and Blackie. Smokey is the mother of Gracie and Blackie. She had them under our shed. Their father is Rupert (I think) but he's long gone to who knows where. We never could catch him to get him fixed, but the girls (Smokey, Blackie, Gracie) were caught and fixed. Socks is a tomcat who has just come around this year and we have yet to trap and fix him, but we will. They all have the styrofoam feral cat shelters and are fed good food and given a heated water bowl...you've never seen more spoiled ferals, lol.

Besides the felines, I do have other pets. My parents, whom I live with, have a yorkie who doesn't like me, so I don't see much of him, lol. I have hermit crabs...5 right now, a betta fish named Fred, and a yellow/green parakeet named Hildy. Yeah...it's a zoo. Oh, I didn't even mention that we live near a small woods and feed the deer, racoons, squirrels, birds and other little critters. And there's also a small pond we built that houses a myriad of green frogs, one turtle, a crayfish, and some goldfish, lol. Did I say zoo? I really meant it, lol.

Anyways, I hope to meet some other animal crazies...or...umm...'normal people' around here. Talk to you all soon!

Dear Lisa, Zena, Holly, and family:

Welcome to TheCatSite! You'll love it here. Wow, you sound like a great family! THANK YOU SO MUCH for rescuing, adopting, and spaying/neutering; and you're a star for helping feral cats!

We are 9 indoor-only, rescued, spayed/neutered felines, and one devoted servant who's lived with, loved, rescued, and advoCATed for cats all her life. Nicolas T. Cat is the eldest at going-on-17; Baby Suha is the youngest, just "terrible two". We also have four hens, the last of our flock of 26 or so; and here in the Mojave, on our land, there are all kinds of residents and visitors, like jack and cottontail rabbits, wood and kangaroo rats, squirrels, chipmunks, lizards, snakes, birds, insects -- you name 'em, they're probably here! I feed the birds and rabbits, and put out water for any and all. The land is completely fenced, so it's kind of a sanctuary here. And all the cats are indoors-only, but they have an enclosed "Catio" to birdwatch and rabbit-watch from.

Look forward to seeing you around on the site, and hope you'll post some pix (the Sticky's at the top of the page of posts tells all about that)!
