Thank goodness for that It has to be him, especially saying he knew all the girls in question

I really hope they got the right guy. I know that sounds pessimistic, and I hope I'm wrong, but there's always that chance that they jumped the gun and arrested him because he happened to know all of the girls in question. Honestly, it kind of surprises me to hear that he helped the girls on the street, and yet would have killed them. Most serial killers who chose prostitutes as their victims/prey don't even see them as humans - they are just meat for their use and abuse. It would definitely be a twist in the psychological profile...

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/e...lk/6189409.stm The BBC site has a video interview with him. He seems odd, but that doesn't make him a murderer. One of the prime suspects in the Green River killings, Melvyn Foster (??), was also a taxi driver who knew many of the victims, and helped them. As it turned out, it wasn't him.

I'm very suprised that the police have allowed this information to be released when it may prejudice any trial....
I can only hope this is the guy as even if it isn't this guy is going to live in fear for the rest of his life..

Sad thing is, if this guy is exonerated, he will never be able to go back to the life he had. With the publicity, he will likely be persecuted in society for the rest of his life (or at least until the killer is caught and prosecuted successfully). About the only way this guy is in the clear right now is if the killer strikes again while he is in custody...

Too true. I noticed on the earlier news reports that they were saying that the police were not releasing the man's identity. The identity WAS given in the report, though the source was not clear. It was disappointing that though the police were not ready to go public on that, the media had to.

Apparently his house was searched by police several weeks ago (when they had only found three bodies). I'm guessing that they have been waiting for the results of forensic tests before arresting him.

A second man has been arrested now

Nobody seems to have been charged so it's a bit soon to say they've caught whoever did these murders.

the daft man actually went to a Sunday paper and gave an interview, where he admitted having a party with all 5 woman - now they are saying he´s a bit of a nut, BUT they are still holding him (not charged as yet )and they have taken DNA from is home. If he´s not charged soon they have to let him go. As mentioned above they have a 2nd man........... well at least they are getting on with it and people of the town are saying they are feelinga bit moer secure about things............lets hope it gets sorted soon

The first suspect has been released on bail, while the second is being held.
