Ugh! I feel your pain because I too have back trouble.

Use ice packs on the area not heat. Ice gives better relief. Also take Ibuprophen which is an over the counter anti-inflammatory. Examples are Advil, but a generic brand does the same thing and it's cheaper.

Ooo...that stinks...I'm sending healing vibes your way. I had that happen to me a few weeks ago. I went to move the coffee table so I could do some pilates and PAIN!!! I could barely move and was in a lot of pain.
Unfortunately I had to take a test that night too...so I somehow drove myself to the test location.

It was better after a week...

Ooooh! Back pain stinks. I have two herniated disks in my lower back, so I know just what that feels like. I hope you feel better soon.

To add to the list of home remedies: magnesium tablets can help relieve the muscle spasms (with no side effects)

You want to be careful taking stuff like that. Always consult a doctor because some conditions can cause the body to throw off it's electrolyte balance, and taking magnesium, potassium, calcium and sodium supplements can be very dangerous to some people.

I also have back issues on and off. There is a wonderful book of exercises called Healing Back Pain Naturally. When I have lower back pain this exercise always helps. Lay down on your stomach and raise yourself up on your elbows like a sphynx. Somehow it takes the pressure off your back. Also loosening up your hamstrings helps too.

Well you know once you get up and move around it's not nearly as bad lol, I had to sit for half an hour before trying to go downstairs again today..It's OK right now probably gets stiffer when you lay in one position
